Dalaman Civil Aviation School was established with the approval of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Senate and the General Assembly of Higher Education, with the publication of the Ministerial Decision No. 2012/3979 in the Official Gazette dated 20/12/2012 and numbered 28503. 

The proposal of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Rectorate to open Civil Management Department, Airframe Engine Maintenance Department, Aircraft Electrical and Electronics Department and Pilotage Departments within the body of Dalaman Civil Aviation School was examined at the Higher Education Executive Board meeting dated 08/01/2015 and it was considered appropriate to open the specified sections under Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547 with Law No. 2880.

The foundation of the Dalaman Civil Aviation School building was laid on 23.05.2017 with great participation. The modern college building has a floor area of ​​1700 m2 and a total area of ​​6000 m2. There are modern aviation workshops, 15 classrooms, a conference hall for 185 people and offices in our building. A protocol was signed between our Rectorate and Dalaman Municipality for the construction of this building, and Dalaman Municipality will make 40% of the building and the Rectorate of our University will make 60% of the building.

In the 2017-2018 academic year, the necessary teaching staff was formed to carry out the educational activities, and an application was made to the Higher Education Council for student admission. As a result, with the decision of the General Assembly of Higher Education dated 20.04.207, students were admitted to the Department of Aviation Management in our Higher School in the 2017-2018 academic year, and education activities began to be given actively.

The objective of Dalaman School of Civil Aviation is to prepare students for various junior management positions in civil aviation companies. The students are not only trained to be highly familiar with technical issues concerning air transportation and aircrafts, but also are provided with managerial skills. Basic concepts in civil aviation management, law and regulations in civil aviation management and public relations are among the topics covered by the curriculum.
